Kitties...in...spaaaaaaaaaaaace! (Or Alien Kitty Ashura? Sounds like a rather questionable anime.) Er, I'm a shameless slasher. I write fic when time allows, which is less and less lately since I'm writing a PhD dissertation that takes up a lot of time.

I'm a postgradute student in Wales doing medieval Welsh literature. It is brilliant fun but also very busy and a lot of work, plus I do things like volunteer for the postgrad association and a medievalist journal and things that are meant to make me look good on a CV later. Because of all of this, I don't have nearly as much time as I'd like to spend on fandom things anymore. It's not for lack of trying.

I am not at all interested in discussing Issues In Media/Fandom/Fanfic; it's just not what I'm here for. I do enough of that stuff in the rest of my life. When I come into the fandom playground, I take the crit goggles off. I like heroism, friendship, and explosions, and dislike theory, jargon, and taking things too seriously.

Archiving/reccing/fanfic policy: ...such as it is.

Mood Theme: Pretty Harry/Draco courtesy of shaggirl, who not only put it all together, but hosted it and provided instructions for using it. Praise!

There is a trick, or rather a knack, to flying. The knack lies in learning to throw yourself at the ground and miss.
--Douglas Adams

...the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.
--Jack Kerouac

"The best thing for being sad", replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That is the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then - to learn."
--T.H. White

All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.
--T.E. Lawrence

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming WOO HOO what a ride!"
